Booking and payment
How a booking is made and when money is due.
A written quote comes first
No booking exists until you have approved a written quote setting out the boat, the inclusions and the total, with national park fees stated separately.
A deposit confirms the date
Payment instructions are issued by Komodo Luxury. The balance schedule is agreed in writing before payment.
Company invoicing
A formal quotation, company invoice and receipt are available for corporate and group bookings.
Park fees are separate
Komodo National Park entrance and activity fees are set by the park authority and charged at prevailing rates on the date of your quote.
Cancellation
Refunds are tiered by notice given. Where a departure is cancelled by Komodo Luxury for weather or safety, the first remedy offered is a reschedule.
| Factor | Notice given | Refund |
|---|
| Set by the operator | Cancellation and refund terms | Set by the operating company in your charter agreement and stated in your written quote — not assumed from this page |
|---|
| Deposits | Deposit treatment | Deposits are generally non-refundable once a date is confirmed; ask Komodo Luxury to state the exact terms for your dates in writing before paying |
|---|
| Date changes | Rescheduling | Where the operator allows it, Komodo Luxury will help move your deposit to a new date rather than losing it |
|---|
| Get it in writing | Before you pay | The refund schedule that applies to you is the one in your confirmation, signed off by the operating company |

Travel insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for every guest and is your responsibility to arrange. It should cover trip cancellation, medical treatment and evacuation.
This matters more here than in most destinations. Labuan Bajo is remote, medical evacuation to Bali or Singapore is the plan for anything serious, and sea conditions cancel departures often enough that cancellation cover pays for itself.
Liability and force majeure
What this guide is responsible for, and what is outside anyone’s control.
Responsibility for the booking
Komodo Luxury is responsible for arranging the services set out in your confirmation, and for holding the operators it books to the standards published here.
Force majeure
Weather, sea state, port closure, government action and other events outside anyone’s control may change or cancel a departure. Where they do, Komodo Luxury reschedules or resolves fairly rather than pushing a boat out.
Safety decisions
The captain and the Labuan Bajo harbourmaster decide whether a vessel sails. That decision is not the operator’s to overrule and not yours to waive.
Your responsibility
Accurate passenger details, declared medical conditions and dietary requirements, appropriate insurance, and following crew instructions on the water.
Photography, disputes and updates
The remaining standing terms.
Photography
Komodo Luxury may use photographs taken during trips in its own material. Tell them or the crew if you would rather not appear, and you will not.
Disputes
Raise any issue with Komodo Luxury first — most are resolved directly. Indonesian law governs these terms.
Updates
These terms are reviewed periodically. The terms that apply to your booking are those in force on the date you confirmed it.
