Two things, each at its best hour
Most Komodo day tours chase five or six stops and leave guests exhausted. This one deliberately does the opposite: one serious wildlife experience — walking with wild Komodo dragons alongside a national park ranger — and one serious reef experience.
The logic is sequencing. Dragon trekking is best early, when the animals are active and the trails are cool. Snorkelling is best in the calm early afternoon, when visibility over Kanawa's coral is at its peak. Dragons first, reef second, means both happen at their best hour.
Kanawa is the closest genuinely good house reef to Labuan Bajo, which is exactly why it works as the closing act: you walk in from the beach and the reef slope begins almost immediately. Forgiving for first-timers and children, still interesting for experienced guests.

Snorkel the house reef straight off the beach, swim, or rest on the sand. Turtles and reef fish are frequent over the seagrass and coral bommies.

How to book
Frequently asked questions
Can I really see dragons and snorkel Kanawa in one day?
Yes. Because Rinca and Kanawa are both relatively close to Labuan Bajo, the combination fits comfortably into a 06:30–16:00 day by speedboat, with roughly two hours of trekking and up to three hours on the reef. Choosing Komodo Island instead lengthens the crossings and shortens beach time.
Is it suitable for children or non-swimmers?
Generally yes, with preparation. Rangers keep treks at a walking pace and offer shorter trail options, and Kanawa’s entry is a gentle beach rather than open water. Life jackets and gear are provided — tell us ages and swimming ability in advance so we assign the right boat and crew.
Do I arrange park permits myself?
No. We handle park registration and ranger allocation as part of the booking. You pay the official fees as a separate line on your quote and bring ID on the day.
What should I bring?
Closed walking shoes for the trek, swimwear and a towel for Kanawa, reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and a dry bag for electronics. Water and lunch are included on board.
