The route works because all four islands sit within roughly an hour of Labuan Bajo. That is what makes a genuine multi-island day possible at a relaxed pace rather than a sprint between anchorages.

The house reef starts a few metres off the jetty, so you snorkel over coral and reef fish without a long swim. A short hill trail gives a panorama over the turquoise shallows.

Seraya Kecil
A curved sandbar and a calm, waist-deep lagoon — the most photogenic stop, and the easiest for families with small children.

Sebayur
Quieter than the others, with reef slopes that generally hold more fish life. Snorkellers who care about coral coverage usually rate this the best in-water stop.

Bidadari
The closest island to town. A warm-up snorkel on the way north, or a final swim before heading back.
Shared trips follow this shape on a fixed clock; private tiers reorder it freely — some guests flip the route to reach Seraya’s sandbar at low tide, when it is widest.

Do I need a Komodo National Park permit for this route?
Kanawa, Seraya Kecil, Sebayur and Bidadari sit on the near side of the bay, and most itineraries limited to these islands are generally sold without the park ticket that Padar or Pink Beach trips require. Can I combine island hopping with Padar and Pink Beach?
Not comfortably in one day — the park icons lie in the opposite direction and deserve their own departure. Book those as a separate day and keep the Kanawa circuit as your relaxed snorkelling day.
When is the best season?
The dry months, roughly April to November, bring the calmest seas and clearest water; July and August are busiest. The route still runs in the wet season, but crossings can be choppier and shared departures occasionally shift for weather.
Is it suitable for non-swimmers and children?
Yes, with the right tier. Seraya Kecil’s lagoon is shallow and calm, Kanawa’s reef is reachable from the jetty, and life jackets are on board. Families with young children are usually happier on a private speedboat or phinisi, where the schedule bends around nap times.
