What a group charter actually buys

A group charter is built around your headcount, budget and agenda rather than a fixed seat-in-coach product. If you are planning for two to eight guests instead, the standard Kanawa day trip is usually the simpler and cheaper route.

How large a group can you handle in one day?

Ten to forty typically fits on one or two vessels; forty to a hundred and beyond runs as a coordinated convoy. Very large events may be split across two days or staggered departures — tell Komodo Luxury your full headcount early so the fleet plan is realistic.

Can we get one invoice for the whole event?

Yes. Boats, crew, catering, park fees and add-ons can be consolidated into a single quotation and invoice addressed to your company, with a deposit-and-balance schedule agreed before the event.

Is Kanawa suitable for mixed groups with non-swimmers?

Yes. The beach and shallow entry suit guests who prefer to stay dry or wade, life jackets are provided for everyone, and guided snorkelling is optional. The viewpoint walk and beach programme give non-swimmers a full day without deep water.

How far ahead should a corporate group book?

Three to six weeks is comfortable in most months for multi-boat days. July, August and the year-end peak need earlier, because vessel availability in Labuan Bajo tightens. Smaller single-boat groups can often be arranged on shorter notice.

How do we actually book a Kanawa Island group charter and get a firm quote?

Who do groups actually book through, and is that the same as contacting the resort?

There is no reliable, public direct line to the on-island resort management, and operations there vary season by season. For group days and charters, treat Labuan Bajo as your booking hub: Komodo Luxury coordinates boats, manifests and island access contributions, then liaises with whoever is running the bungalows or beach facilities at the time if you ask for anything ashore.

How do we check who to contact about staying, and can a group sleep on the island after a charter?

Overnights on Kanawa are possible only when the legacy bungalows are actually operating; this has been on-and-off in recent years, with reports of water and power issues. There is no central, always-current contact for accommodation on the island. If you want to keep a group on the island, ask your charter operator to verify same-season conditions and bedding capacity when they build your personalised Komodo itinerary, and have a fallback plan to sleep back in Labuan Bajo.

What phone reception and mobile data should a company expect during a group event?

Assume patchy connectivity. Most guests on recent trips have had at least a basic signal on the hilltop and sections of the main beach, but 4G is not continuous and can drop to zero during bad weather or network issues. Do not plan live-streamed townhalls or app-based challenges that require constant data. If you need to stay reachable, brief colleagues that you may be offline for most of the 8–10 hour day and use the phinisi saloon or shaded deck for any essential offline sessions.
