Kanawa Island Guide is an editorial guide to one island, not an island operator. This guide does not operate boats. Bookings are fulfilled by Komodo Luxury, and this site may earn a referral commission. Komodo Luxury arranges days on the water with vetted local operators and puts the price in writing before you pay.

The short version

The pages on this site that quote money quote ranges, and say so. That is deliberate: park fees are set by a government authority and fuel moves month to month, so a fixed published price would be a guess dressed as a promise.
Who stands behind it
Kanawa Island Guide is published as a specialist editorial brand within Juara Holding Group. Bookings made through this site are fulfilled by Komodo Luxury, operated by PT Komodo Bahari Nusantara, a licensed Indonesian tour operator (KBLI 79120, regulated by the Ministry of Tourism).
That matters for two practical reasons rather than for prestige. It means a company invoice and a receipt are normal requests rather than favours, and it means there is an entity to hold to the terms on your booking confirmation.

How an operator gets named on this site
Every partner — boat, dive centre, transport provider — is assessed against a five-pillar rubric weighted heavily toward safety and compliance, then sustainability, then service. The scoring and the weightings are published in full on the methodology page rather than described in the abstract here.
Recommendations are not sold. Commercial relationships exist with the partners Komodo Luxury books, but they follow the assessment rather than causing it, and sponsored content is labelled where it appears.
What we are not
Stated plainly, because the confusion costs travellers money.
- Not the owner or operator of Kanawa Island Resort.
- Not a park authority. Entrance and ranger fees are set by the park, not by any operator.
- Not an instant-booking platform. Every quote is written by a person.
- Komodo Luxury is the party you hold to the written quote you approved.
If you want to book the island’s accommodation directly, the property offers its own discount for direct bookings and we say so on the resort page. A guide that hid that would not be worth trusting on anything else.
