National park procedures
Kanawa itself lies outside the Komodo National Park boundary, so a Kanawa-only day generally involves no park entry ticket. Any route extending to Padar, Pink Beach, Manta Point, Rinca or Komodo does, and those tickets are arranged for every guest before departure.
Inside the park, compliance is part of boat safety rather than adjacent to it: designated moorings are used rather than anchoring over fragile reef where moorings exist, guests are briefed on wildlife-distance and no-touch rules, waste is carried in and carried out, and ranger or licensed-guide accompaniment is arranged wherever an itinerary requires it.
Weather: no port clearance, no sailing. That decision rests with the Labuan Bajo harbourmaster and the captain, official maritime forecasts are monitored for 48 hours before every departure, and no skipper is pressured to depart.
